Spotlight Parent Resource

Reading to preschoolers offers numerous important benefits. It enhances their language skills by introducing them to new words and sentence structures, which helps improve their communication.
Additionally, reading ignites their imagination and creativity. Stories transport them to new worlds and help them understand various concepts.
When caregivers read with children, it creates special bonding time. This strengthens emotional connections and helps children feel secure.
Reading also encourages kids to think critically. They learn to ask questions and make predictions about the stories they hear.
Most importantly, cultivating a love for reading at an early age helps children learn and grow throughout their lives, setting them up for success in school and beyond.

Mental & Emotional
Wellness
We understand that navigating life's ups and downs can be challenging, which is why we have our dedicated mental health consultant, Connie, working in the classroom every week. With her resources, we’re here to provide a range of support for families during these times. If you ever need someone to talk to or have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to any member of our team. We genuinely care and are here to support you!

At the heart of what we believe is kindness! We’re all about spreading kindness in every part of life. One fun way we do this is with our kindness rock garden, right by the preschool entrance. We invite all families to join us in sharing little messages of kindness on these rocks, helping to brighten our community one rock at a time!
At snack time, we take a moment to practice gratitude by encouraging each child to share something that aligns with that day's gratitude prompt or song. This simple act fosters a sense of community and positivity. By regularly practicing gratitude, children experience numerous mental health benefits, including improved mood, reduced stress, and increased resilience. This routine not only enhances their overall well-being but also teaches them to appreciate the little things in life, helping to cultivate a lifelong habit of positivity and mindfulness.

Reading is important for a child's mental health. It helps children think better and be more creative. When they read stories, they can imagine different worlds and ideas. This also helps them understand others' feelings and builds empathy.
Reading together also strengthens the bond between parents and children. It creates a special time to talk and share thoughts about the story, which brings them closer. By spending time reading, parents show that they value learning and literacy, which helps children's emotional growth.
Overall, reading supports a child's learning and builds a strong relationship between parent and child, promoting better mental health and stronger connections.

Physical
Wellness
We are committed to teaching our students the importance of building positive nutritional habits from an early age. During snack time, we confidently provide a two-component snack that includes a choice of either a grain, a fruit, or a vegetable. We firmly do not allow sugary treats, ensuring our students enjoy healthy options that support their well-being.

We are committed to empowering parents with crucial knowledge about the impact of food dyes on children’s health. Research clearly demonstrates that synthetic food dyes can significantly influence children's behavior, often resulting in hyperactivity, inattention, and restlessness. While these effects may be temporary, prolonged exposure can undermine a child's capacity to learn and excel in school.
Synthetic food dyes are strongly linked to the aggravation of ADHD-like symptoms, including hyperactivity and inattention. Additionally, these dyes can lead to other issues such as sleeplessness, irritability, and aggression. It’s essential to recognize that children vary in their sensitivity to synthetic food dyes, and exposure may exacerbate symptoms in those with conditions like autism spectrum disorder.
To assist you in making informed decisions for your family, we’ve compiled a list of common artificial food dyes and their alternative names.
By understanding the potential effects of these food dyes, you can make the right choice for your family’s health and well-being.

Following child passenger safety laws is vital for protecting our children on the road. These laws mandate the use of appropriate car seats, booster seats, and seat belts based on a child’s age, weight, and height, significantly reducing the risk of serious injuries in accidents. By adhering to these regulations, we not only safeguard our young passengers but also set a strong example of responsibility for others. Prioritizing child passenger safety helps create safer roads for everyone and reinforces our commitment to the well-being of our most vulnerable travelers. Let’s ensure our children travel safely.
